About the Dance Styles

Urban Line Dancing

A form of dance where individuals line up in rows and perform choreographed dance moves in unison.  Best of all, you don't need a partner which makes this accessible to everyone.  The choreography is straightforward and repetitive, making it easy for beginners to pick up.  The dances are set to fun upbeat music from various genres such as Country, Pop and Latin, creating a fun and lively atmosphere.

A great way to stay active, socialise, and enjoy music in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

"Rhythm & Groove" Dancefit

A high energy fitness class that combines dance movements with aerobic exercises to provide a fun and effective workout.  In this class you will follow along a series of choreographed dance routines set to upbeat music, focusing on rhythm, coordination, and cardio endurance.  The choreography may include elements of salsa, hip-hip, jazz, or other dance styles, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences.  The intensity level can be adjusted to accommodate different fitness levels, making Dancefit suitable for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble,

Sequence dances to the rhythms of ballroom, plus all the traditional ballroom dances of Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep 

Street Latin dancing refers to a style of Latin dance that originated and evolved within urban communities, often in informal settings such as clubs, parties, and street corners.  Street Latin dancing is characterised by its improvisational nature, energetic movements and a strong connection between partners.  This style is popular worldwide and is known for its accessibility, allowing people of all ages and backgrounds to participate and enjoy the rhythm and movement.

New Vogue is a partnered style of dance originated in Australia and is characterised by its sequence-based choreography. The choreography is set to music with a strong beat, making it accessible for dancers of all levels.

Traditional ballroom dancing is characterised by its elegance, grace, and formal techniques.  Each dance has its own unique style and character.  The Waltz is known for its smooth gliding movements, the Tango is characterised by sharp, staccato movements and dramatic expression.  The Foxtrot is a smooth and flowing dance with a combination of slow and quick steps.  The Viennese Waltz is faster than the traditional Waltz, with continuous, flowing movements, and the Quickstep is lively and energetic, with fast-paced footwork and syncopated rhythms.

The Latin American style of dance is known for its energy, passion, and rhythmic movements.  These dances often involve intricate footwork, hip movements, and vibrant costumes reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region. Each dance has its own unique characteristics but they all share a common emphasis on passion and a connection between partners.  Overall, Latin American dance is a celebration of culture, music and expression.
